Become a Mentor
We Build Character is looking for executives with coaching and mentoring abilities who are passionate about preparing the next generation of leaders. There is a minimum annual time commitment of 24 hours meeting with your mentee. You will be encouraged to participate in program events at your discretion. As a mentor, your primary role is to provide guidance and support to your mentee based on his or her unique developmental needs. At different points in the relationship, you will take on some or all of the following roles.
- Coach/Advisor – give advice, guidance, share ideas and provide feedback
- Source of Encouragement – act as a sounding board for ideas/career choices and provide insight.
- Resource Person – identify resources to help a mentee’s development/growth as well as expand their network of contacts
- Sponsor – serve as an advocate for the mentee and seek opportunities to increase their visibility
